November 5, 2005

We met today and planned our whole next year in challenges and meetings topics so that we can spend more time torching at our meetings. Check out our Meetings page for more info.

We also planned to have our annual holiday party on Wednesday, December 28 at 7 p.m. at Joanie's house. Bring a maximum $20 secret Santa gift to exchange. We will also have hors d'oeuvres.

August 2, 2005

Several of our members just got back from the Gathering (the annual conference of the ISGB). We had fun, experienced the Bead Bazaar together, and learned a lot! There will be photos up soon!

June 15, 2005

We have finally begun meeting in a permanent location at a warehouse with an ideal space for our torches. On that note, we have purchased 6 minor burners so that we have a way to actually torch with each other on a monthly basis. We are working on bringing in some instructors soon too!

In the past several months we have made some significant strides as a group.  We are now an official chapter of the ISGB. Many of our members will attend the Gathering in Louisville at the end of July. We are working towards having a permanent meeting place set up with our own torches so we can have more hands-on meetings and classes.

October 11, 2004

In October we met at Cil's house to elect officers and continue some organizational work. We have arranged an Open Torch day in Charlottesville with the Stress Cracks for this Sunday, October 17. Check out our meeting minutes for more information.

September 4, 2004

Our September meeting was held today at Christy's house. We shared beads, ate awesome snacks, and discussed the future of the group including new officer election and creating a permanent space for us to meet.  Check out the Meetings page for minutes.

We established a nomination committee for our October elections. If you have nominations for the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer please e-mail Bethany, Joanie, or Linda P. by September 20.

I am starting to add content to this site. Members who wish to have a page gallery with contact info and links to personal websites, please e-mail Mitra with information and pictures (if you'd like).

July 11, 2004

We had a great meeting at Ann Scherm Baldwin's house today. We discussed future plans, shared our twistie beads, adopted Rosie as THE official logo for our group, Ann demoed at the torch, and Mitra demoed riveting end caps onto beads.

We have a new website! We are in the very beginning stages of creating this new site which will enable us to share news of our group's activities and provide members with space to market their work.

We will update this page as we add new items and enable links as they are completed.
